Changes the yellow used across the app: buttons, headings, the matrix board, route bars, the selected plane and the sun.
Search radius
15–150 km
Refresh interval
5–60 s
Faster refresh asks the feed more often. If it starts rate‑limiting, Overhead switches feeds automatically.
Data source
Auto uses airplanes.live and switches to adsb.lol if it's rate‑limiting or unreachable, then stays on whichever is working.
Units
Aircraft shown
Commercial only hides private and general‑aviation traffic, keeping airline‑style flights (e.g. "BA117") — detected from the callsign, so an occasional light aircraft may still slip through.
Your proxy URL (optional, fixes live data reliably)
The flight feeds (adsb.lol, airplanes.live) can block direct browser requests. Overhead falls back to a public proxy automatically, but those are unreliable. For a permanent fix, deploy the included overhead-worker.js as a free Cloudflare Worker and paste its address here.
Sky behind the aircraft (Overhead tab, Aircraft view)
The sky follows the real time of day where you are (night, sunrise, day, sunset) and the current weather there: clouds, rain, snow, fog and thunderstorms. Weather from Open-Meteo, free, no account.
Aircraft photos (from Planespotters)
Real photos of the aircraft show in the info card and on the Overhead tab when Planespotters has one for that plane. If you never see any, tap Test photos to find out why.
Flight‑number key (optional, shows ticket numbers like BY6354)
Airlines fly under ATC callsigns (e.g. TOM3KL) that aren't the number on a ticket (BY6354), and no free feed maps one to the other. With your own free AeroDataBox key from RapidAPI (about 600 lookups a month) Overhead looks up the real flight number and route for the flight in the main card, the one you select and the one you track. The key stays on this device.
